As a writer, I am constantly assailed with imaginings which bubble up from the abyss of my mind to burst upon the surface and give rise to a violent foam of ideas and concepts, most of which I must shelve in the bibliothéque of my mind, some to become lost forever since the card catalog within my gray matter is strewn about the library floor like corpses upon a battlefield.
I also have a severe problem with run-on sentences.
On occasion however, I write something fictional. Not just a humorous tale of my experiences as an extra-galactic bounty hunter pursuing stellar criminals beyond the rim of Andromeda, but a story concerning other characters in situations which might be entertaining to readers. Or at the very least, entertaining to myself.
This page is to serve as an index of stories which I have written and placed upon the web. These stories are mainly short stories, but an occasional long story or novella might rear its ugly head.
I’ll try to mention the addition of such things in the main blog.
Creative criticism is always welcome, though both flattery and insult will be intentionally ignored. A simple “I liked it” or “didn’t work for me” is sufficient in most cases, but I always appreciate an explanation, such as “the characters were one-dimensional, and I felt that a villain with a beehive hairdo was difficult to see as a serious threat to the hero.”
So here is a list of the stories I’ve written. Note that many stories I write end up being incomplete, so I will likely not post those. However, those which I ultimately finish should wind up linked from this page.
One last note: I will likely post stories in Portable Document Format (pdf). The reason for this is that such a method, while somewhat awkward, provides the greatest potential for the formatting that I want to use. Thus, the reader will not have to install fonts or download items to receive the story as I envisioned it. I strongly suggest using the Foxit PDF reader, though the Adobe Acrobat Reader is sufficient for this purpose. Both are free.
